I found an easy way to mount my WD NetCenter directories securely and remotely. I tried hard to get sftp-server going, which is missing from dropbear. I even cross-compiled openssh with the hndtools-3.0 toolchain to no avail. I always get dynamic loader (ld.so.1) errors when trying to run my sftp-server.
I found that shfs-0.35 can do the job. It looks a lot like using fuse and sshfs except that shfs does not need a remote server like sftp-server. It uses simply shell (or Perl) commands on the remote side. Make sure that the NetCenter has a sh executable that supports functions. msh of the standard busybox is not good enough. I got busybox-1.5.1.full that contains ash. You have to change the shfs-0.35 sources a bit to indicate the use of /opt/bin/ash. But then it works great. ----------------------- Geert |

cool thing, i looked a long time around for such a tool, sslwrap wasn't able to wrap ftp.
i would use the full bash as a shell (version 4.0), so my busybox has really no further support beyond msh. can you make your binary for shfs availlable or send it to me via mail? i'm lazy at the moment and have so much other things to do |
